The Roe & Co Summer Garden is Back at the Distillery with Three New Irish Pop-up Restaurant Partners Unveiled

Roe & Co Whiskey is bringing an explosion of flavor to the Dublin 8 distillery located in the heart of The Liberties, with a new line up of incredible local restaurants taking over Roe & Co’s Summer Garden for their signature summer whiskey and food pairing experience.

Dublin’s food scene has diversified so much and this year’s line up will showcase and celebrate the best of modern Irish cooking, through the lens of reimagination. Roe & Co’s Summer Garden will welcome Crudo in June with their Mediterranean focused menu, followed by Órale’s vibrant Mexican inspired cooking in July and finally Hakkahan’s modern Chinese menu in August.

Taking place on the outdoor patio at the Roe & Co distillery, diners should anticipate bold, innovative dishes with everything from Goatsbridge trout ‘Nduja and marinated heirloom tomatoes, to handmade spicy Sichuan dumplings and zingy sea bream ceviche tostada’s. Rotating monthly, each pop-up partner will launch a unique 4-course menu, reimagining their food offerings to pair with Roe & Co cocktails, in what’s poised to be the perfect date night or outdoor spot for that long overdue catch up with friends.

These pop ups mark the beginning of the Roe & Co Summer Garden 2023, a whiskey and food pairing experience, previously known as D-8TE, that has been running for 3 years now. The summer series takes pride in showing the breadth of Roe & Co whiskey and how their cocktails complement some of the most exciting food on the Dublin scene.

CRUDO:

Crudo, recent winner of best casual dining in the 2023 Irish Restaurant Awards, is a nearby seafood restaurant, inspired by Mediterranean fare and lifestyle. Combining traditional Italian cooking with modern flavors and a keen focus on local & sustainable seafood and produce. Childhood friends Jamie McCarthy & Sean Crescenzi have expanded on the concept of accessible neighborhood dining to offer something unique, taking inspiration from both of their backgrounds: Ireland & Italy. Think Italy meets Ireland with aperitivo and antipasti vibes.

Residency dates: Friday, 9th June – Saturday, 1st July.

ÓRALE:

Fresh Irish ingredients paired with Mexican influences are the star of the show for Órale, a nomadic kitchen set up by Ian Cairns in 2019. He started out with food truck staple tacos, expanded to cook Mexican-inspired sharing dishes and began to build a cult following across Dublin. He recently set up shop at the new hot spot bar, Pawn Shop on Dame Street. At Roe & Co, Órale’s tasting menu will showcase plenty of local, Irish, and seasonal suppliers and a menu of vibrant, colorful Mexican-inspired dishes that will pair excellently with Roe’s unique and interesting whiskey cocktails.

Residency dates: Thursday, 6th July to Saturday, 29th July.

HAKKAHAN:

Hakkahan’s literal translation means ‘man from Hakka’ which is the region in China where owner Ryon Wen is from, while Hakkahan’s chef Qiang Liu from the Sichuan Province. It is a natural progression that they have created a menu dominated by Sichuan dishes with a smattering of influences from elsewhere. This restaurant understands the importance of provenance and works with some of the best Irish suppliers to ensure the consistency of their ingredients and how they can be showcased. This summer they will provide Roe & Co guests with a modern Chinese menu inspiring you to reimagine how delightful Chinese food is, paired with a Roe & Co whiskey cocktail.

Residency dates: Thursday, 3rd August – Saturday, 26th August.
